Thunder st0rm today brought flood in central Phuket, resulting vehicles stalled after drawn in the water. Whilst normally rainy season starts in May, the rain was unexpected as the day was quite clear with blue sky. Situation was getting worse as the flood carried along soil from construction sites onto the roads.

Not only motorbikes, the coastal road between Kalim and Patong on some spots – like in front of Novotel – were not accessible by lower cars like sedans.

The road between Patong on the west coast and Phuket Town on the east coast was dangerous as the steep slopes of Patong Hill down to Kathu turned into deep rivulets. The situation brought a question if a tunnel will make traffic easier under heavy rain. To anticipte potential crisis, an ambulance was set to stand by at the top of Patong Hill.
